Gokulam Grand Resort & Spa, Bengaluru
We have to admit that we are lucky because not all wedding planners are blessed with clients like Samik Dugar and Nidhi Baid. A couple so in love that they were more focussed on “getting married” rather than “how to get married”. It was one of those cases when you realize that you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. Believe me when I say it that I met the couple only once after confirmation, that too just a couple of days before the start of the wedding extravaganza just to brief them about the flow and what they should expect. The couple was so sweet, considerate and understanding that they only cared about the basic necessities and left the rest of the planning for their family. And the family wanted nothing but just the best for them and that’s exactly what we aimed for #SamikKiNidhi.
Since we have already had worked in Bengaluru before and both the families were also from Bengaluru so the communication was not much of a problem but we had to take a couple of trips to keep things in check. The wedding date was one of the busiest dates of the season so we had to book the vendors and artists well in advance to get the right quality of all the essentials at the right price. Bride’s uncle, Mr Dharmendra Baid was supervising over the entire wedding planning and designing and he was of immense help. He had an eye for quality and royalty and his support and personal attention was admirable.
The best thing about the venue, Gokulam Grand is that it is just 25-30 minutes’ drive from the airport which is a big advantage in this city. They have proficient and experienced employees, can board up to 500 guests and has comely outdoor and indoor event space which is more than we need for our 2 days celebration. There are heavy chances of downpour in Bengaluru in the month of June so we made sufficient arrangements in advance to save our event being washed away and it did serve our purpose.
Five events designed over two days, each having its own different flavour – Carnival-style Mehendi, Sangeet filled with dazzling performances, traditional Mayra, floral Haldi and Jhol and a royal wedding, we had it all covered. Our disciplined team and experienced artists made sure that each and every guest present have a great time and everything should work out for client’s satisfaction. It was quite a challenge to implement the Varmala in the venue which the client had finalised keeping in mind the rain patterns but with proper planning and little extra on-site effort, we managed to pull it off with perfection.
Designing an event is what we do and we enjoy doing it, but when it comes to designing an event for a couple like Samik and Nidhi, it is nothing less than a treat for us. We will always cherish the fact that we were a part of this union. It is weddings like this which reminds us of the fact that we are in the business of emotions and for that, we are ready to walk every extra mile possible.
